Belagavi
A Marathi poet, she studied in Maharastra at Rajaram College and Fegusson College.
The primary theme of most of her poetry was nature, love and longing. She also wrote extensively about multidimensional aspects of women’s life.
She published 25 books. In academia, she served as a Professor and then Principal of Teacher’s Training College in Belgaum.

Ramesh Tendulkar published Mrunmayi (मृण्मयी) (1982), a compilation Sant’s selected poetry. Her poems have been translated into English as “Snake-skin and other poems of Indira Sant” (1975)
